Basketball Recap: Mohave Falls Despite Big Games from Gavin Holmes and Kingzten Bristol

Mohave was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 55-45 to the Mingus Marauders. The Thunderbirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Marauders earlier this season, when they won 46-42.

Mohave's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kingzten Bristol, who posted 18 points, and Gavin Holmes, who put up 16 points. That was a full 40% of Mohave's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Mohave's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Mingus, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohave will face off against Bradshaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mohave has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Mingus, they will challenge Metro Tech at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
