Soccer Game Preview: Ponte Vedra vs. Beachside

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will take on the Beachside Barracudas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ponte Vedra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Englewood onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Rams are ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Beachside made sure to put some goals up on the board against St. Augustine on Monday. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 4-0.

Beachside's win bumped their record up to 9-5-2. As for Ponte Vedra, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-2.

Ponte Vedra took their win against Beachside in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Ponte Vedra repeat their success, or does Beachside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
