Apalachee gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes. The Wildcats were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Purple Hurricanes, so the Wildcats were just returning the favor.

Apalachee easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-21.

Monroe Area is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Apalachee will be playing at home against Oconee County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Monroe Area, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Loganville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
