Volleyball Recap: Phillipsburg Comes Up Short

Phillipsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Scott Beavers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Beavers when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Scott scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18.

Scott was led to victory by Player #10 and Crissa Irvin. Player #10 had 18 digs and two assists, while Irvin had 18 digs and two assists. Player #10 is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Phillipsburg's loss dropped their record down to 13-22. As for Scott, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-22.

Coincidentally, Phillipsburg and Scott will both be playing Goodland the next time they take the court. The Beavers will host the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 4:45 p.m.
