3A Cape Fear Valley recap Nov. 7, 2012

Overhills extended the longest winning streak in 3A Cape Fear Valley this week by beating Western Alamance, 38-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Jaguars.

Grays Creek's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joe Wallace threw for 171 and two touchdowns and Ken McDowell had 110 yards receiving. On the ground McDowell chipped in 291 yards. Xavier Washington helped Grays Creek's passing attack out by catching two balls for 61 yards.

Westover's Henry Howard III and Kendall Lindsey have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Howard III has thrown for 1532 yards this season, while Lindsey, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 34 catches for 544 yards. The Bears' McDowell leads the league in rushing yards with 2684.

Grays Creek led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Grays Creek.
