Basketball Game Preview: Teton Timberwolves vs. Butte County Pirates

The Teton Timberwolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Butte County Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Teton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Wednesday, Teton didn't have too much trouble with Snake River as they won 45-27. The 45-point effort marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Teton had a senior duo take command as Kadence Hansen went 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points and six steals and Clara Nykamp posted eight points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Hansen a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Kincaid, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Butte County came into Wednesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over West Jefferson on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since February 5th.

Teton pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Butte County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Teton took their win against Butte County in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 56-32. Does Teton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Butte County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
