Basketball Recap: Atlantic Christian Gets the Win

Atlantic Christian proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-68 win over The Christian Academy. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw The Christian Academy, too.

Atlantic Christian had a senior duo take command as Noah Stokes dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 boards and Charlie Costello dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Stokes has scored at least a third of Atlantic Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Costello, who posted four points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Atlantic Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Atlantic Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for The Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Atlantic Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-51 defeat against Delaware County Christian on the 14th. As for The Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-22 win against The City School on the 14th.
