Baseball Recap: Schoharie Triumphs

Schoharie never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Galway Golden Eagles with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Noah Spencer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Spencer was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kolebyn Scheemaker, who earned one RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Zaiden Baker, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Schoharie's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Galway, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Schoharie will square off against rival Duanesburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Galway is set to take on their familiar foe Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
