Basketball Recap: Winthrop College Prep Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winthrop College Prep Academy won the last time they faced Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans secured a 61-56 W over the Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix.

Winthrop College Prep Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai Brookins, who posted 23 points and four steals. That's the most steals Brookins has posted since back in November of 2024. Jaiden Martin was another key player, going 9 of 20 en route to 20 points.

Winthrop College Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate only racked up ten assists.

Despite the loss, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate still got an impressive performance from TASHANDA MADZVIMBO, who had 22 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, MADZVIMBO is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of EMANI BROWN, who put up 13 points and eight boards.

Winthrop College Prep Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

Winthrop College Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-45 defeat against Calvary Christian on the 24th. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate has also already played their next matchup, a 72-44 win against Patel on the 23rd.
