Football Recap: Makhai Brogden and Amiere Cobb Secure Win for Harding

The Harding Raiders didn't have too much trouble with the McDowell Trojans on Friday as they won 28-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Leading Harding to victory were Amiere Cobb and Makhai Brogden. Cobb rushed for 101 yards and one score on only nine carries, while Brogden rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Brogden really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another big playmaker for Harding was Matt Richardson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Harding's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Anthony Simpson, Ellis Daniels, and Asa Burch, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Harding now has a winning record of 3-2. As for McDowell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harding will challenge Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for McDowell, they will face off against Cathedral Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Ramblers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
