Baseball Recap: Piggott Takes a Loss

Piggott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Rector Cougars, falling 14-5. If the Mohawks were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Piggott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Rector, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Coming up, Piggott will square off against Corning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Piggott has given up an average of 18 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Rector has already played their next contest (against Hillcrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
