Volleyball Recap: Oxnard Takes a Loss

Oxnard was the 3-1 winner over Oaks Christian when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellowjackets fell 2-0 to the Lions on Saturday. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19.

Jared Osorio paced Oxnard's offense, picking up six kills. Osorio got some help from Levi Martinez and his 14 assists. Finally, Martinez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Oxnard's loss dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Oaks Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Oxnard has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Rio Mesa on the 18th. As for Oaks Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Moorpark on the 18th.
