Softball Recap: Calallen Wildcats vs. Liberty Panthers
Calallen and Liberty squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Calallen had to settle for second. They fell 3-0 to the Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in February.
Jordyn Thibodeaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Calallen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brookelynn Meador, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Calallen's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 31-6. As for Liberty, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season.
While Calallen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
