Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg had won three straight games and Shaw Summer did her part to make it four on Friday. The St. Petersburg Green Devils took their match with ease, bagging a 61-15 win over the Osceola Warriors thanks in part to Summer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of St. Petersburg's points.

Quay Curry was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave her a new career-high.

St. Petersburg's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Osceola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

St. Petersburg will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Academy of the Holy Names at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Osceola will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Gibbs at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
