Baseball Recap: Chiefland Indians vs. Dixie County Bears

Chiefland proved they can win big last Friday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Dixie County Bears 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted against the Bears since February 23, 2021.

Garrett Byrd made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February.
