The Hereford Bulls will face off against the Franklin Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Hereford made easy work of Kenwood and carried off a 10-2 victory. The Bulls haven't had any issues with the Bluebirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Hayley Dyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lauren Clement, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Hereford lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Franklin never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Patapsco. The victory was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Mia Cleveland was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Lanee Houser was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Hereford, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hereford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Franklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hereford skirted past Franklin 6-4 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Bulls repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
