Softball Recap: Leonardtown Takes Down Ranked Archbishop Spalding

Leonardtown faced Archbishop Spalding in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cavaliers, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on four straight.

Claire Radford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kendall Wathen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Leonardtown's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Archbishop Spalding, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
