Basketball Recap: Walled Lake Western Takes a Loss

Walled Lake Western was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the South Lyon East Cougars 69-42. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while the Cougars are ranked 238th).

Walled Lake Western's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for South Lyon East, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Coming up, Walled Lake Western will challenge St. Catherine of Siena Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Lyon East, they will take on Mercy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
