Concord got themselves on the board against Shirley on Thursday, but Shirley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Blue Devils. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Tyler Davis was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Braxton Whitener was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Concord always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Concord's record now sits at 7-10. As for Shirley, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Concord will be playing in front of their home fans against Viola at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shirley, they will head out on the road to challenge Bradford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
