Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Comes Up Short

Sheridan managed to slip by Rossville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blackhawks came up short against the Hornets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Sheridan was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Rossville work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-7, 25-17.

Lainey Mendenhall paced Sheridan's offense, picking up nine kills. Mendenhall got some help from Adria Jump and her 13 assists. Lilli Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Rossville found their leader in freshman Cassie Schoon, who had 11 digs and three assists.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Rossville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Looking ahead, Sheridan will welcome Mississinewa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rossville, they will head out on the road to square off against Clinton Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
