Recap: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Austin Mustangs

This season hasn't been kind to the Sharpstown Apollos, who are still winless after their seventh match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 34-13 walloping at the hands of Austin on Saturday. The contest was a close 9-6 at the break, but unfortunately for Sharpstown it sure didn't stay that way.

Austin found their leader in underclassman Ashtian Glass, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Destiney Armstrong, who scored 6 points.

The last time Sharpstown won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost four straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sharpstown will be home for the holidays to greet Milby at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Austin will take on Houston Math Science & Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston Math Science & Tech's defense has only allowed 26.9 points per game this season, so Austin's offense will have their work cut out for Austin.
