Football Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Walnut was the 30-8 winner over Myrtle when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats received a blow on Friday as they fell 35-16 to the Hawks.

Myrtle found their leader in freshman Tucker Elliott, who threw for 125 yards and three TDs.

Walnut now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Myrtle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Walnut will head out on the road to take on Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Myrtle, they will host East Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be up against the Urchins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
