Baseball Game Preview: Munford Cougars vs. Collierville Dragons

Munford is 1-6 against Collierville since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Cougars will host the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. Munford is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Munford hadn't beaten Arlington on the road since May 15, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 4-3.

The team relied heavily on Drew Greenland, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Collierville nor Clay made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Dragons never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Dragons have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Collierville's win bumped their record up to 12-4-1. As for Munford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Munford came up short against Collierville in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, falling 6-2. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
