East Central is 8-2 against Lawrenceburg since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The East Central Trojans will face off against the Lawrenceburg Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

East Central fought the good fight in their overtime game against New Palestine on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dragons 10-2 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers, sneaking past 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since December 9, 2023.

Lawrenceburg's win came from a few key players East Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Natalie Knigga, who posted six points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubree Labazzo, who earned 13 points.

Lawrenceburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

East Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Lawrenceburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

East Central came up short against Lawrenceburg in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 37-33. Can East Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
