The Edgewood Warriors will head out to square off against the Jefferson Area Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Edgewood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Conneaut, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Warriors blew past the Spartans 49-14 on Friday. Considering the Warriors have won three matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Edgewood relied on the efforts of JJ Dufour, who threw for 172 yards and three TDs, and Jaiven Pope, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Dufour racked up 73 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August. Devon Sanchez was in the mix too, providing Edgewood with two scores.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Sanchez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 38-7 defeat at the hands of Madison. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 577th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 166th).
Jefferson Area's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Edgewood, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4.
Edgewood might still be hurting after the 44-18 defeat they got from Jefferson Area when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
