Basketball Recap: Leo Hodal Key Part of a Team Effort in Hawks Win

On Friday, the St. Vincent de Paul Academy Hawks were able to grind out a solid win over Frontier STEM, taking the game 41-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Vincent de Paul Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leo Hodal, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points and three steals. Hodal is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Franklin Greene, who posted six points and nine boards.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Frontier STEM, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Vincent de Paul Academy will take on Midland Adventist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Frontier STEM, they will face off against Guadalupe Centers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frontier STEM is facing Guadalupe Centers at the right time seeing as Guadalupe Centers is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
