Volleyball Game Preview: Rossville Hornets vs. Triton Trojans

After both having extra time off, the Rossville Hornets and the Triton Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rossville comes in on four and Triton on six.

Rossville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Northfield with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Triton made easy work of Fort Wayne Canterbury on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Rossville better keep an eye on Sophie Howell. She was instrumental in Triton's win, getting 14 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Howell has posted since back in September. Lydia Hammond was another key player, getting 13 digs.

Triton's victory bumped their record up to 24-11. As for Rossville, their win bumped their record up to 30-3.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Rossville hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.7 blocks per game. However, it's not like Triton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.4 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
