Basketball Recap: Wesson Cobras vs. Pisgah Dragons
Wesson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Pisgah Dragons, falling 73-37. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.
Damarion Smith and John Brayden James certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Smith posted 11 points, while James had seven points.
Luke Sanders had a dynamite game For Pisgah., shooting 75% from the field to rack up 27 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Zane Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.
Wesson's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pisgah, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Coming up, Wesson will take on North Pike at 11:15 a.m. on Monday. As for Pisgah, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-42 victory against Park Place Christian Academy on the 22nd.
