Basketball Game Preview: Elyria Pioneers vs. Steele Comets

The Elyria Pioneers will head out to square off against the Steele Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elyria has given up an average of 61 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Saturday, Elyria was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 74-70 to St. Francis de Sales.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Steele). They were the clear victors by a 94-71 margin over Brookside on Saturday. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Steele's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Elyria, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Elyria didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Steele when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 57-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
