Softball Game Preview: Wade Hampton Generals vs. Riverside Warriors

The Wade Hampton Generals will challenge the Riverside Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wade Hampton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Wade Hampton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Laurens 14-0. The win continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Kellyn Kingston made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Kingston was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eden Morford, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanaii Rivers, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Wade Hampton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Riverside can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They and Greer finished up on equal footing with a 7-7 tie.

Wade Hampton now has a winning record of 8-7. Riverside's draw makes their record 4-7-1 this season.

Wade Hampton came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverside in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Generals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
