Baseball Game Preview: Hamden Hall Country Day Hornets vs. King Vikings

Last Tuesday, Hamden Hall Country Day narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past King 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Nic Scillia and Amato Civitello made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Scillia tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Civitello tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hamden Hall Country Day is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise. At the plate, Scillia scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4, while Civitello went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Luca Faulkner was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Atticus Bird also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
