Richard Carlson turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Tuesday. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He was dominant the last time he took on Alden-Hebron back in April of 2024, so they probably should've seen this coming. Carlson has become a key player for South Beloit: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Carlson's effort led South Beloit over Alden-Hebron and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Sobos have some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since May of 2021, but a win here would be a good start.
