Derby had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Garden City Buffaloes, posting a 74-33 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Derby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macayla Askew, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 18 points and four steals. Askew is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games she's played. Aysia Fox was another key player, going 7-for-8 on her way to 16 points and three steals.

Derby's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points on average over those games. As for Garden City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Derby will take on East at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. East will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Derby surely won't give up without a fight. Garden City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
