Baseball Game Preview: New Caney Eagles vs. Grand Oaks Grizzlies

For the second straight game, New Caney will face off against Grand Oaks. New Caney will welcome Grand Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: New Caney has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Grand Oaks will arrive with four straight victories.

Things were looking good for New Caney after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-4 to Grand Oaks. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

For Grand Oaks' part, they got a great performance from Mason Kinchen as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Kinchen gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Kameron Webb was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Collin Martin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Grand Oaks' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for New Caney, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10-1.
