Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Edison

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will face off against the Edison Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Edison is facing Roosevelt at the wrong time: Roosevelt suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 4-2 to the Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 184th).

Yosi Munguia and Jordan Llanos scored both of Roosevelt's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Edison earned a 3-1 win over Pajaro Valley two weeks ago.

Edison is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 12-1-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those eight matches. As for Roosevelt, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
