Baseball Recap: Millikan Falls Short of Foothill in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Millikan can now relate to. They fell just short of the Foothill Knights by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered since April 3, 2024.

Daunte Bell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Millikan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Kennard, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Millikan's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Foothill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-11.

Millikan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foothill, they will take on San Clemente at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tritons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
