The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Jasper fell victim to Lumberton and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Raiders are ranked 137th).

Vidor pushed their record up to 18-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three matchups. As for Jasper, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Everything went Vidor's way against Jasper in their previous matchup back in February, as Vidor made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vidor since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
