Softball Recap: Spruce Mountain Comes Up Short

Spruce Mountain lost against Dirigo last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Phoenix lost 11-1 to the Cougars.

Spruce Mountain's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Dirigo, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Spruce Mountain will head out on the road to take on Lisbon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greyhounds have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Dirigo, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-5 victory against Madison on the 20th.
