Baseball Recap: Millard West Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Millard West dropped their record down to 18-10 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Lincoln East Spartans by a score of 1-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wildcats haven't been shut out since back in March.

Colton Williams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had over his last three games.

As for Lincoln East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

On Lincoln East's side, not much got past Kalai Larsen, who gave up just three hits to keep Millard West off the board. Larsen has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lincoln East's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brodie McIntire, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Millard West has already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Papillion-LaVista South on the 3rd. As for Lincoln East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-5 victory against Elkhorn South on the 3rd.
