After a string of five wins, Otsego's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Flyers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 10-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Otsego saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Wendt, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Otsego's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Lake, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Otsego is set to challenge their familiar foe Eastwood at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.3, the Eagles 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lake will square off against rival Oak Harbor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
