Volleyball Recap: Andrews Osborne Academy Comes Up Short

If Andrews Osborne Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lake Ridge Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Phoenix lost 3-0 to the Open Door Christian Patriots on Tuesday. The Phoenix haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-10.

Alle Royer paced Andrews Osborne Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Royer also shared the team's lead in assists with Dakota Royer: they picked up five each.

Open Door Christian was led to victory by Maggie Gillum and Sammy Comer. Gillum had seven digs and two aces, while Comer had 15 digs and three aces. Comer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Andrews Osborne Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Open Door Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Andrews Osborne Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Medina Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. As for Open Door Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Central Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
