Soccer Game Preview: Worcester Tech vs. Nashoba Valley Tech

The Worcester Tech Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Nashoba Valley Tech Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Worcester Tech's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Worcester Tech's offense. They came up short against Fitchburg on Friday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Worcester Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Fitchburg are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, Nashoba Valley Tech had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Panthers. Considering Nashoba Valley Tech have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Worcester Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nashoba Valley Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1.

Worcester Tech might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Nashoba Valley Tech in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
