Softball Recap: Cook County Drops Season-High Score on Mcgregor

Cook County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 11-8 to the McGregor Mercuries. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Vikings' highest-scoring game to date.

Cook County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for McGregor, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cook County will welcome East Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McGregor, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hill City/Northland at 4:30 p.m. Hill City/Northland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so McGregor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
