Softball Recap: Mills Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Mills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the Gunn Titans get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Vikings have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Pedroza tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Mills got a massive performance out of Jazzy Maske, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Maske a new career-high. Lucy Esquivel was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Mills pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Gunn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Mills will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mercy at 4:00 p.m. As for Gunn, they are taking a road trip to face off against Los Altos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
