New Milford extends road losing streak to five

Recap: New Milford Green Wave vs. Newtown Nighthawks
The New Milford Green Wave's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 71-63 to Newtown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Milford in their matchups with Newtown: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, New Milford still got an impressive performance from Armani Checo, who scored 28 points. That's the first time this season that Checo scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Esposito, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
New Milford dropped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Newtown, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
New Milford will head out on the road to square off against Masuk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newtown, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
