Softball Recap: El Capitan Comes Up Short

El Capitan was the 8-3 winner over Point Loma when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The El Capitan Vaqueros lost 11-1 to the Point Loma Pointers on Thursday. The matchup marked the Vaqueros' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

El Capitan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ciara Bernardini, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for El Capitan and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Point Loma, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2-1.

Coincidentally, El Capitan and Point Loma will both be playing Brawley the next time they take the field. Point Loma will head out to face Brawley at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while El Capitan will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
