The West Geauga Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the Geneva Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Geauga is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, West Geauga beat South 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.
Lely Percassi was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Percassi was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Borz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Geneva made easy work of Berkshire on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 win. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like West Geauga, Geneva also got a great game from a two-way player: Annabelle Bragg. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Bragg has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Claire Cafaro was incredible, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Cora Brace was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
West Geauga's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Geneva, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Geauga hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Geneva struggles in that department as they've averaged .312. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Geauga skirted past Geneva 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
