Recap: Calvert Senecas vs. Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains
The Calvert Senecas lost to the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains back in December of 2023, but the Calvert Senecas didn't allow the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Calvert came out on top against Hopewell-Loudon by a score of 35-25. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Calvert.
Calvert's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Megan Rombach led the charge by scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Rombach continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brooklyn Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Calvert has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvert will take on St. Mary Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary Central Catholic is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will be playing at home against Lakota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakota presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hopewell-Loudon in Ohio (Lakota is ranked 202nd, while Hopewell-Loudon is ranked 489th).
