Soccer Recap: Portage Northern Takes a Loss

Portage Northern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plainwell Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Portage Northern of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Portage Northern's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Plainwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Portage Northern will venture away from home to face off against Kalamazoo Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Plainwell, they will face off against Niles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
