PikeView has gone 5-0 against Independence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The PikeView Panthers will take on the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. PikeView knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Independence likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, PikeView was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-55 to Sissonville.

Meanwhile, Independence was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 46-41 to Hoover.

PikeView will have to keep a close watch on Lacey Goodson and Harmony Mills, a pair of players who had a big impact on Independence's prior game. Goodson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards, while Mills posted 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 41.5% of Independence's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Independence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

PikeView dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Independence, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for PikeView against Independence in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as the squad secured an 87-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for PikeView since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
